New acquisition: Woman & Cat, by Robert Colquhoun

Lithograph, 1951

At the Fry annual sale last November, the gallery was able to boost its collection with a clutch of works by ‘Fry’ artists. They include two late watercolours and a print by Edward Bawden, a Michael Rothenstein linocut, and two lithographs by Robert Colquhoun, one of which is depicted here.

This print from 1951 re-uses the subject of an oil painting which Robert Colquhoun exhibited at the Lefevre Gallery in London in 1946, and which is now held by the Tate Gallery.
