Mark Hearld and his Cat & Mouse poster in the Fry Gallery

The Fry Gallery’s Annual Picture Sale is coming up on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November. We are thrilled that Mark Hearld has designed this superb Cat & Mouse poster, inspired by the many depictions of cats in the Collection, to promote the sale and to celebrate 40 years of the gallery.

There are only 100 signed copies for sale. The poster is 54 x 38cm and unframed. Letterpress printed from the original linoblock at Tilley printing, established in 1870. Typeset by Martin Clark using original 19th century wood & metal type.

Mark Hearld was born in York in 1974. He studied Illustration at The Glasgow School of Art before completing an MA in Natural History Illustration at The Royal College of Art in 1997. His work is exhibited throughout the UK and commissions include the Lumber Room at York Art Gallery in 2015, and a range of ceramics for Tate. Thames & Hudson have recently published ‘Raucous Invention’ a celebration of Mark’s work.  He now lives and works from his home in York. Mark has been a supporter of the Fry Art Gallery for many years.

The poster is available now in the gallery or in our on-line shop, priced at £50.00, including shipping https://fryartgallery.org/product/cat-mouse-poster-celebrating-40-years-of-the-annual-sale/
