Mark Making in the tradition of Eric Ravilious – one day wood engraving masterclass with Anne Desmet RA

Suitable for beginners and those with more experience. All materials supplied.
After meeting at URC hall a short walk to The Fry Art Gallery to look at Ravilious blocks, prints and drawings. Be inspired by his composition, mark making and subject matter. Please bring a small sketchbook and pencil to make quick notes. After returning to the hall Anne will give a short talk and demonstration. Before lunch explore various tools and ways to cut your small trial block. Design your next block aided by Anne and inspired by Ravilious. A number of photocopies from prints in the Fry collection will be provided.
Anne will demonstrate how to ink and hand print your blocks. Everyone will go home with 2 cut blocks and some prints.
