Alan Powers will uncover the long-lost or forgotten works of Eric Ravilious, Edward Bawden, Kenneth Rowntree, Michael Rothenstein, Bernard Cheese, Sheila Robinson and Olga Lehmann that were a major national contribution to institutional buildings, ships and exhibitions from 1930 to 1987.
Alan Powers is co-curator with Neil Jennings of the spring 2025 Fry Gallery exhibition Bardfield Murals: Ravilious, Bawden, Rowntree and others, which tells the story through over 30 original studies and preparatory drawings, many from private collections and seldom seen.
