A workshop using drawings made together in the morning to produce simple mono
prints in the afternoon. Drawing is the foundation for all my printmaking so I will
begin the day by showing you some of my own work as an introduction.
In the morning we will use pencils of all kinds including coloured pencils and
charcoal pencils to make drawings from a still life set up for you in the studio. Some
people may want to bring in background elements by making quick sketches in the
characterful surrounding streets of Saffron Walden.
After lunch we will make simple mono prints using our drawings as an inspiration
and a starting point. We will use water based printing ink. I want to help each person
to realise their own unique vision in the way that they realise their print. All abilities
are welcome.
Wear old clothes and an apron for printing. We have a limited number of drawing
boards so bring your own if you can and please bring sharp scissors or craft knife.
Materials will be supplied but do bring any suitable drawing materials or paper you
might like to use in addition to those provided.
