Edward Bawden: Seven Decades of Watercolour
Saturday 30th June 2012
to 2nd September
Bawden's considerable reputation in printmaking has sometimes meant that his achievements as an artist in watercolour are overlooked, although he worked in this medium all his life. This exhibition draws on the gallery's own extensive collection of his watercolours, with augmentation, and demonstrates his work starting while he was at school, through his studies at the Royal Collage of Art, and many exhibitions and commissions until his death in 1989, and will be a rare opportunity to follow Bawden's career exclusively in this field.
